In another closely fought battle over the 36 hole final, Midlands Golf Club narrowly defeated Buninyong Golf Club to win the Division 1 Pennant Shield in 2016.
Buninyong went into the final on top of the ladder after an excellent home and away season, and continued that dominance over the morning 18 holes, to hold a commanding lead over the lunchtime break.
But a spirited turnaround in the afternoon saw Midlands eventually edge out their opponents and record a narrow victory, their fifth in the last seven years.
