The BDGA 2018 54 Hole was played on the 10th, 11th & 12 of March 2018.
It took five playoff holes, but Kelly Lyle is the new Ballarat District 54-hole men’s scratch champion.
The Buninyong Golf Club member prevailed over multiple champion Craig Boucher on Monday.
Lyle eventually got the better of Boucher, from Midlands, on the par three second hole at Buninyong.
He had led the competition by three shots heading into the final round before Boucher tied the scores in the afternoon with a round of 72.
Lyle, who had played on Monday morning, was then forced to return to the course to complete the playoff and win his first 54-hole crown.
Meanwhile, Helen Pascoe added to her long list of victories in the women’s scratch division.
Pascoe, also from Buninyong, finished on 250 strokes to beat fellow club member Nikki Prato by four shots.
Prato had led the competition heading into the final round after good efforts at Midlands and Creswick’s RACV Goldfields Resort.
