Team Woods claim 2019 Junior League

The BDGI 2019 MyGolf Junior League season was played over a five-week period, with the final round of matches played on Sunday 3rd March at the Buninyong Golf Club.

Held in conjunction with the BDGI Junior Pennant season, the MyGolf Junior League catered for 36 boys and girls each week who:

  • Have been introduced to golf through Golf Australia school-based programs and/or the MyGolf program
    and/or
  • Are a junior member at a BDGI affiliated club

Played in teams of six, matches were played over nine holes on a shortened course (par 3 holes: approximately 100m, par 4 holes: approximately 150m, par 5 holes: approximately 220m). Players participated in pairs, with a Two-Ball Ambrose Match Play format used.

Team Woods went through the season undefeated to claim the title. Congratulations to team members Harry Sutherland, Benjamin Crellin, Harrison Strawhorn, Isaiah Whitehouse-Gersch, Madison Todd and Lara Hughes. Team Day also enjoyed an excellent season, finishing in second position.

One of the aims of BDGI is to grow junior participation and the MyGolf Junior League has addressed a gap in our junior participation pathway. We look forward to growing the competition again in 2020.
