2021 Junior District Champions

The 2021 Ballarat Junior Open was played at the Buninyong Golf Club on Wednesday 13th January, with 63 golfers from Ballarat District Golf affiliated clubs and 19 other clubs from around Victoria competing.

The tournament was a counting event towards the Victorian Junior Order of Merit (Geoff Ogilvy and Future Champions Trophies) and importantly also served as our Junior District Championships.

Kacee Kirwan-Hamilton from Ballarat Golf Club claimed the Under 18 Boys District Champion title. Playing in his final Junior District Championships, Kacee added to his Under 15 title, which he won back in 2018. A member of our representative team that were crowned Victorian Junior Country Champions at the end of last year, Kacee is amongst a growing group of elite junior players in our region that are setting the standard for others to follow.

Rose Britt from Midlands Golf Club won the Under 18 Girls District Champion title. Also playing in her final Junior District Championships, Rose capped off a remarkable junior career with a third Under 18 title in four years. Rose was also our inaugural Under 15 Girls District Champion in 2018.
Another member of our successful representative team, Rose continues to be a wonderful role model for all the girls playing golf in our region.

Mo Haintz from Mt Xavier Golf Club successfully defended his Under 15 Boys District Champion title. Like everyone else, Mo had an interrupted 2020 and was a reserve player for our successful representative team, but he is back in the kind of form that saw him dominate in 2019, when he claimed three tournament wins locally.

Aaliya Puvanendran from Ballarat Golf Club won the Under 15 Girls District Champion title. At just 12 years of age, Aaliya started playing golf in Maryborough, has been a member of our MyGolf Girls Squad since 2017, plays Junior Pennant and regularly competes in our junior tournaments.
