2022 Men’s and Women’s Country Week


The Men’s and Women’s Country Week Teams’ Matches is a District team scratch match play competition played between Country Districts of Victoria.

The competitions are separated into three divisions, in accordance with finishing positions of the preceding season and the competition consists of a “round robin” between districts in each division over 4 rounds.

The Men’s Country Week Teams’ Matches were first played in 1924 for the Shield (Division One) competition. The Plate (Division two) was introduced in 1956 with the Bowl (Division Three) commencing in 1994.

The Women’s Country Week Teams’ Matches were first played in 1933. The trophy for which they compete is the Alice Coltman Cup donated by the first

President of the Ballarat District Ladies Golf Association. Both Division One and Two receive cups being the gifts of the late Mrs. Coltman while Division Three receives a cup donated by Mrs. L. Carstairs. Division Two commenced in 1970 while Division Three started in 1984.

For this year The Men will be competing for the Men’s Shield and the Women competing for Division Two glory.

Matches will be played at Hill Top Golf Club, Mooroopna Golf Club and Shepparton Golf Club commencing on Monday 26th September and concluding on Wednesday 28th September.
