Ballarat GC wins 2018 Junior Pennnant

The 2018 BDGI Junior Pennant season was played over a five week period, with the final minor round matches and the final played on Sunday 4th March at the Mount Xavier Golf Club.

Played under handicap match play conditions, Junior Pennant is designed to grow junior participation across the district and provide players with a pathway to the opportunities available at regional and state level.

This season we saw a combined BDGI Girls Development Squad / Maryborough Golf Club team participate in the competition, taking the total number of teams to six.

At the conclusion of the minor round Ballarat and Buninyong qualified to meet in the final.

Ballarat capped off an excellent season by defeating Buninyong 3½ matches to 1½, to win the Junior Pennant title. Congratulations to Kacee Kirwan-Hamilton, Brandyn Davidson, Ryan Wilson, Liam Howlett, Kieran Chapis, Oliver Hodge and Tom Bosworth on the high quality of the golf they played in the final and for their consistency over the course of the season.
